1. Create a 12 color color wheel, using only the primary colors (Red,Yellow,Blue) 2. Create a 7 level value scale using one color + white (this is called tinting) 3. Create a 7 level value scale with the same color as before + Black (this is called shading) 4. Create a seven level intensity scale (bright to dull color) with any color of your choice + it's complimentary color (color opposite of it on the color wheel) ie: Yellow/Purple. Start with one color on one end of the scale and the other color on the opposite end, gradually mix small amounts of the color into your main color.
Still Life Practice
1. Choose an object in the classroom and practice by creating a simple still life. Use your knew knowledge of mixing colors and values to make your painting 3-D (show form).
